In the ‘post-modern’ era we live in, we don’t have time to read a whole page. We have lost the ability to concentrate.
Our young people communicate with ‘likes’ and graphs, photos, and short messages.
The ‘social media’ entered our lives and saved in digital form, texts, images, messages, videos, scientific publications, and literature, creating a huge endless chaos of information.
This chaos has become a legacy of humanity of incredible utility, if you can make use of it.
Along came artificial intelligence, the perfect tool to capitalize on this heritage.
Artificial intelligence will provide easy fodder for knowledge to be spread for generations to come.
But I’m impatient, I can’t wait for this evolution to complete its full circle.
I wanted to leave my own, albeit, insignificant, legacy to my friends, associates and relatives.
I neither wrote a book, or directed a movie, and my perceptions of this society are captured in a form of diary that no one will ever be able to read, as a single continuous document, because it consists of too many different moments, covering too many different subjects, different points of interest, opinions, and feelings.
This digital diary consists of hundreds of personal articles, videos, photographs, poems, reflecting opinions, views and events throughout time that have shaped my professional, personal, emotional, and political choices.
The topics are spread widely and cannot be of equal interest to every reader, whether close friend or relative, or associate.
I have set a big goal, and I am concerned that my attempt may emit some arrogance, so I apologize to the reader, it is not arrogance but shows awareness that our generation has a unique and very special advantage of experiencing a real cosmogenic moment of dramatic technological evolution, possibly unique to humanity, for millennia.
We were the generation that lived through the creation of atomic energy as well as the consequence of the deadly creation of the atomic bomb.
We were the generation that used everything from analog mechanical calculators to supercomputers, robots, space travel and artificial intelligence.
So, I was touched by my son when he noticed that I was writing many articles that I was publishing in what I call a digital diary, and he said to me:
‘Father, you write and after you die, I will ask the technical intelligence, what would be your opinion on various matters that arise.’

Στην ‘μεταμοντέρνα’ εποχή που ζούμε δεν προλαβαίνουμε ούτε σελίδα να διαβάσουμε ολόκληρη. Έχουμε χάσει την δυνατότητα αυτοσυγκέντρωσης.
Λίγο καλύτερα τα καταφέρνει ο κινηματογράφους, πού συγκεντρώνει όλες τις τέχνες, γι’ αυτό και ονομάστηκε η κινηματογραφία ‘έβδομη τέχνη’.
Οι νέοι μας επικοινωνούν με ‘like’ και γραφήματα, φωτογραφίες και συνοπτικά μηνύματα.
Τα ‘socialmedia’ μπήκαν στην ζωή μας και απομνημόνευσαν κείμενα, εικόνες, μηνύματα, βίντεο, επιστημονικά συγγράμματα και λογοτεχνήματα, δημιουργώντας ένα τεράστιο ατέλειωτο χάος πληροφοριών.
Αυτό το χάος έγινε μια παρακαταθήκη της ανθρωπότητας, απίστευτης χρησιμότητας, φτάνει, βέβαια, να μπορεί να αξιοποιηθεί.
Ήρθε, σαν ολοκλήρωση και η τεχνητή νοημοσύνη, το τέλειο εργαλείο για να αξιοποιηθεί αυτή η παρακαταθήκη.

Ούτε βιβλίο έγραψα ούτε κινηματογραφική ταινία σκηνοθέτησα, η ζωή μου και οι αντιλήψεις μου γι’ αυτήν την κοινωνία, αποτυπώνονται σε μιας μορφής ημερολόγιο που κανείς δεν θα μπορεί να το διαβάσει, όπως θα διάβαζε ένα βιβλίο, γιατί αποτελείται από πολλές στιγμές πολλών θεμάτων, απόψεων και συναισθημάτων.
Αυτό το ημερολόγιο αποτελείται από εκατοντάδες άρθρα, κείμενα, ποιήματα, βίντεο, φωτογραφίες, που αντανακλούν απόψεις και γεγονότα διαχρονικά που διαμόρφωσαν τις επαγγελματικές, προσωπικές, συναισθηματικές, πολιτικές αλλά και άλλες πολλές απόψεις και επιλογές.
Τα θέματα είναι πολλά και δεν μπορούν να προκαλούν το ίδιο ενδιαφέρον σε κάθε αναγνώστη, φίλο κοντινό ή συγγενή ή συνεργάτη ή ουδέτερο ερευνητή της εποχής που ζούμε.
Μεγάλο στόχο έβαλα και με ενοχλεί η έπαρση, που ίσως να εκπέμπει η προσπάθειά μου αυτή, απολογούμαι λοιπόν στον αναγνώστη, δεν είναι έπαρση αλλά συνειδητοποίηση ότι η γενιά μας έχει μία σπάνια ιδιαιτερότητα ή και προνόμιο, να βιώνει μία πραγματική κοσμογονική μετάλλαξη, ενδεχομένως μοναδική στην ανθρωπότητα, για χιλιετίες.
Ήμαστε η γενιά που έζησε την δημιουργία της ατομικής ενέργειας και μαζί με αυτή την δημιουργία της ατομικής βόμβας.
Ήμαστε η γενιά που χρησιμοποίησε, από αναλογικές μηχανικές αριθμομηχανές μέχρι τους τεράστιους ηλεκτρονικούς υπολογιστές, τα ρομπότ, τα ταξίδια στο διάστημα και την τεχνητή νοημοσύνη.
Με συγκίνησε λοιπόν ο υιός μου όταν παρατήρησε ότι έγγραφα πολλά άρθρα και τα δημοσίευα σε αυτό που ονομάζω ηλεκτρονικό ημερολόγιο, και μου είπε:
‘Πατέρα, γράφε εσύ και αφού πεθάνεις θα ρωτάω την τεχνητή νοημοσύνη, ποια θα ήταν η γνώμη σου για διάφορα θέματα που θα προκύπτουν.’
Λίγο μαύρο χιούμορ, αλλά και συγκινητικό για ένα Πατέρα να αξιολογείται θετικά η γνώμη του.

Από τις δύο παραπάνω περιοχές προέρχονται οι δύο κλάδοι των οικογενειών του πατέρα και της μητέρας του Νικολάου Κούζου που ήρθαν σαν πρόσφυγες από την Μικρά Ασία, μετά την καταστροφή του Ελληνικού στρατού το 1922, αλλά και αργότερα το 1924 με την ανταλλαγή των πληθυσμών, οπότε και συμπληρώθηκε η εκδίωξη του Ελληνικού και χριστιανικού πληθυσμού από την Μικρά Ασία.
Το website τo οποίo σας προσκαλώ να επισkευτείτε ξεκίνησε σαν μία προσωπική αναφορά στις ιστορίες των γονιών και κοντινών συγγενών μου, που έζησαν τις δραματικές εμπειρίες του, πρωτοφανούς για την εποχή, ξεριζωμού, στην Μικρασιατική καταστροφή, αλλά και πριν από αυτή, τις συνθήκες που βίωσε ο Ελληνισμός της Μικράς Ασίας.Εξελίχθηκε όμως σε κείμενο γενικότερης αναφοράς σε ιστορικά γεγονότα της περιόδου που μπορεί να αποβεί χρήσιμο στις νεότερες γενιές των Ελλήνων, στην Ελλάδα, αλλά και για τις γενιές των Ελλήνων της διασποράς που διψούν να μάθουν για τις ρίζες τους.

The website includes chapters, articles and videos about the history of the uprooting of the two branches of the families of the father and mother of Nikolaos Kouzou from Asia Minor, after the destruction of the Greek army in 1922

The analysis of historical events is presented in different sections that consist of separate chapters by topic, with a complete historical review, even in chronological order of historical events with references to documentation from reliable sources cited so as to create a text with increased credibility.
The fact that the website is written in Greek as well as in English also covers Greeks abroad and especially the generations who are slowly losing contact with the Greek language but must not lose their national consciousness and memory in any way. This need has become even more important due to the more recent developments that Turkey has adopted revisionary policies against Greece that is affecting Europe and USA.

The third website contains 130 videos that mainly record family events, but among them there are also some stories of the last survivors from the unforgettable homelands of the lost Hellenism. I don’t think that this website will be of interest to a wide portion of readers and mainly concerns family friends and relatives or researchers, who are interested in approaching through personal stories the conditions of Hellenism in Asia Minor.
NOTE: The contents, by category, chapters of the blog https://timesforchange.wordpress.com/about/, and also on the website nickkouzos.com include the entire book by Panos Meimaridis about Kirkagats and its last inhabitants, as well as an other historical book about the Peramos written by G. Sgouridis, but also other articles with broader description of more elements about the disaster faced by Hellenism, in this period, such as memoirs of the US Ambassador in Turkey and the US Consul in Smyrna George Horton.
